You can find the number of times a paper has been cited in Web of Science. A Web of Science Handout is available: http://guides.utmb.edu/help
- Click on Web of Science under the search boxes on the Library's home page.
- Click on down arrow next to Basic search and select Cited Reference Search.
- Fill in the blanks. It is usually best to use author and year OR author and journal.
Authors must be entered lastname initials. Use the * to include middle initials. e.g. smith j*
Journals - use the journal abbreviations link to find the correct journal abbreviation
- Click the Search button.
- Find the correct citation on the results list. If you just need the number, it is listed in the Times Cited column. If you want to see the citing papers, click click the number next to Times Cited.
